College Students Returning

My first recollection of a “college student” a long time ago, was the chatter around town about the new students arriving to SCSU. However what I remember the most was all the freshmen had to wear these little beanies when they first arrived. I actually once believed that these little hats were cool.

Move in weekend is once again upon us and thousands of students (and their parents) will be descending upon our community. Lets not forget to extend a warm welcome and appreciate their arrival. We are fortunate to have so many excellent colleges and universities. They add so much to our quality of life and needless to say are a tremendous benefit to our local economy.

To all the staff, faculity and students: Welcome Back and have a successful 2009/2010 academic year.

The sumac is turning red, acorns have begun to fall and the days are cooler – what could be a better activity than jumping on a bike and tour the Lake Wobegon Trail?

In August 2009, the City will launch the Downtown Tour, Highbanks Tour, and Barden Park Tour to a worldwide audience. The tours will be available for download to a personal mp3 player via the Internet through ITunes or will be available for checkout in St. Cloud Planning and Zoning at St. Cloud City Hall.

These interactive tours will feature property and business owners presenting interesting facts and images about the historic and architectural elements of their property.

Forty plus historic sites will be showcased within the three tours.
